The Secret of Carol Rosa hit the top 4% of Amazon sales! Art Smukler, MD, author & psychiatrist

As Charles Dickens wrote in The Tale of Two cities, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

November 5th when Kamala lost it was a day of despair.

November 9th is a day for me to celebrate.

The Secret of Carol Rosa rose high in Amazon’s ranks of best selling novels.

Here’s one of the 5 STAR reviews:

I just finished THE SECRET OF CAROL ROSA, a psychological-suspense novel, in one sitting. It is rare for me to read a novel that I can’t put down. The tension is unremitting, and you can’t wait to turn the page to see what happens next. The characters are fully formed, and you care what happens to them. The protagonist, a psychiatrist is stuck in an obsessional, depressed rut until he sees a malevolent man in a “strip bar”. The mystery unfolds, the tension increases, and the characters become more real. This novel is so visual that it could be a movie. Dr. Smukler did a great job. Bravo!

If you haven’t read it, give it a try. If you have, try my other 2 psychological suspense novels, Little Italy and Patient X.

All are available as E-books ( Kindle, Apple, etc.), paperbacks, and are on KDP Select, where thousands of novels are available as E-books for a monthly fee (on Amazon).

Read a good novel and get cheered up!

Thanks, Art

Let’s Applaud Jason Kelce, by Art Smukler, MD, author & psychiatrist

It’s such a treat to watch the greatest athletes in the world compete for the right to play in the Super Bowl. I’m in awe how a puny 170 lb running back can survive multiple hits from gargantuan 300 lb defenders. Most of the time, after being plastered to the turf, they simply pop up and get ready for the next play.

But in today’s world, calling football a game is not accurate. It’s a business with billions of dollars riding on how well a team performs. For the players, there’s a simple rule, If you mess up too much, you’re fired.

Jason is one of the premier centers in all of football and is loved and respected by his Eagles teammates and fans. He showed up at the Chiefs-Bills playoff game to support his brother, Travis, an all star end and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend. So what happened?

After Travis scored his second touchdown, Jason pulled off his shirt, left the enclosed suite, and carrying his beer he ran into the freezing stadium and endeared himself to the Bills fans. Shirtless, he even carried a young girl back to the suite so she could meet her idol, Taylor swift.

Jason took all the seriousness out of the game, flipped it upside down, and enjoyed himself and embraced his brother’s success. I loved it! He’s a great father. A hard worker. A person who obviously doesn’t take himself too seriously. And he reminded us that football is a game, a game that most of us played as kids, and he let us all forget for a brief few minutes how money sometimes ruins our perspective.
